Job Description
As the Data Engineering Manager, you’ll oversee the development, implementation, and optimization of scalable data infrastructure. You will guide engineers on architecture best practices, ensure data integrity across systems, and align data strategy with business goals. This role combines strong technical expertise with leadership skills to grow a high-performing team in a fully remote environment.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a remote team of data engineers, providing technical direction and career development.

Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines and architectures using modern technologies.

Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements.

Ensure data accuracy, security, and accessibility across data platforms.

Define and implement data engineering best practices, coding standards, and process improvements.

Oversee ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing solutions, and data lake architectures.

Manage data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Coordinate sprint planning, code reviews, and engineering delivery timelines.
Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

7+ years of experience in data engineering, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role.

Strong experience with Python, SQL, Spark, and data modeling.

Familiarity with modern data stack: Airflow, dbt, Kafka, Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.

Expertise in building and managing scalable data platforms on the cloud.

Excellent communication and leadership skills in a remote-first environment.

Experience working with cross-functional teams in agile development environments.
