Job Description

As a Payments Specialist, you will handle payment processing, respond to customer inquiries related to billing and payments, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate payment records, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

You will be the point of contact for clients needing support with payments and help to improve payment procedures for efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and verify incoming payments via various channels (credit card, ACH, checks, etc.).

  • Respond promptly to customer payment inquiries via phone, email, or chat.

  • Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies or disputes.

  • Collaborate with billing and accounting teams to ensure accurate records.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of payment transactions.

  • Assist in payment reconciliations and reporting.

  • Support continuous improvement of payment processes and customer service standards.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Previous experience in payment processing, billing, or customer service roles is highly desirable.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

  • Familiarity with payment systems, financial software, or CRM tools is a plus.

  • Ability to work remotely with reliable internet and strong time management skills.
