Job Description

As the People & Culture Manager, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of human resources operations during a defined project period. You’ll play a vital role in talent development, employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and culture-building initiatives. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and compassionate leader who can build strong internal relationships and support a thriving team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in HR or People Operations

  • Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (particularly in NY)

  • Demonstrated experience managing sensitive employee relations cases

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and performance tools

  • Experience in fast-paced, creative or media organizations preferred

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day HR operations including payroll coordination, benefits support, and onboarding

  • Act as a resource for employee relations, workplace policies, and internal conflict resolution

  • Support DEI initiatives and employee engagement strategies

  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning and temporary staffing needs

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

  • Maintain accurate personnel records and documentation

  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze feedback for improvements
