Job Description:

As a UPS Field Service Engineer, you will provide on-site support for the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of logistics technology equipment and systems. You will be responsible for ensuring maximum uptime of mission-critical systems such as conveyors, sortation systems, control panels, and automated machinery.

Your role will involve travel to UPS facilities across your region to handle preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, equipment installations, and system upgrades. You will work closely with facility managers, technical operations teams, and third-party vendors to implement UPS’s engineering and operational excellence standards.

This position is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, being hands-on with equipment, and working in a customer-focused setting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in field engineering or equipment maintenance

  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%)

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record


Responsibilities:

  • Perform on-site equipment diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs

  • Install and upgrade logistics automation systems and components

  • Troubleshoot PLC and control system issues

  • Provide technical support and training to on-site staff

  • Ensure compliance with UPS safety and engineering standards

  • Document maintenance activities, system issues, and solutions

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance equipment performance
